Meet Robyn Kellner

Hello my name is Robyn. I trained and started teaching ISR in summer of 2002. I became an Instructor after having two of my own children go through the program.  I considered training as an Instructor after seeing what skills the ISR program provided my own children. I talked with the Instructor who taught my kids and looked at the cost and time involved which led me to think, "Maybe I will do that...in a couple years." Then something happened. My 16-month old daughter fell in the pool on a day we all had been swimming. My husband had taken her to get dressed while I remained in the pool with our son. She toddled her way toward us, headed for a bucket of pool toys that drew her interest. I kept my eye on her while my son was doing a nice swim-float-swim toward me. As she reached into the bucket, her big toddler head carried her forward, and the bucket spilled both my daughter and the toys into the pool. Before I could get to her, she was floating on her back, just as she had learned to do months ago. It was then and there I made my decision to do whatever it takes to become an ISR Instructor. I couldn't imagine my life without ISR. I love the kids, I love the families, and I love giving a kid a fighting chance. Because of my commitment to safety in and around the water, I also work as a lifeguard and teach CPR/First Aid.
